The most important thing to start with is going to be your profile and your profile picture. The one thing you really don’t want is a picture of you taken by your webcam, or taken in the mirror – you’ll immediately look as though you have no life and no friends! Not a greatly attractive proposition to most people. Of course, if you want to look like this then go ahead, but I’m guessing that most of you want to show yourself doing something you enjoy, smiling, laughing, having fun. One of the best tips you’ll get is that you immediately look more attractive if you’re smiling or laughing naturally in a photo, so take the time to find a picture of yourself when you were doing something you enjoyed and it showed in your face.
If you have a good full body photo then this is better to put online than just a face, but if not go for a head shot and put some other photos on your profile that are full length photos so that a potential date has a really good idea of what to expect.
Now it’s time to invest in writing about yourself; here are a few simple tips to start with:
Don’t Lie – it may be tempting to try and make yourself sound better with a lie, but if you do this you’re not being you and you’ll get found out in the end, plus you’ll never meet the woman who’s going to make you happy
Be creative and original in the way you write – it you sound bland in your profile women won’t be tempted to take it any further even if there’s nothing specifically wrong with what you write. Try and inject a little bit of your personality without telling it all so that potential dates are intrigued and want to find out more
Don’t be overly specific – the perfect match for you might be ruled out based on a tiny detail if you’re too demanding. You’ll sound very rigid, not open to giving anything a chance, and probably not a lot of fun to be around.
Now you’ve had some tips on the basics have a go at writing your profile and see how you get on. Read it through and try to think how it would sound to someone who knows nothing else about you – would it inspire them to get in touch to find out more? |
